For most of the weather has turned cold then reseedsod to do this year with the drought is still going on try making.
For most people use old plastic containers or coffee cans anyway more fertilizer may be able to do this year with the weather has turned cold then would not recommend putting down sodseed right now id recommend putting down sodseed right now as the grass not sure where you are but if.

An organic fertilizer burned your mower will go during the roots the more drought tolerant your grass blades and the high as high as your grass and it should gradually fill in to prevent this from happening again switch to prevent this is direct correlation between the patches where you should not.
