Im trying to start the lawn mower and its making a loud clanking sound every few pulls, the engine sounds like its going to start and nothing happens except for white smoke ive changed oil gass spark plug air filter ive tried starter spray and nothing, and every couple pulls the cord just snaps back out of my hand??? any ideas ints a craftsman 7.0 self prepelle mower???

The pug back clean it sounds like you turned the mower upside down and start it few times then put the plug out and pull it few times.

The gas you could even have oil in the gas you might also try carb and then.
